How to check links and formatting after rewriting a Gorgias reply

Check link destinations, useful link text and the final layout after a Gorgias rewrite. Use a worked comparison and see where Vellix fits.

A fictional reply checked in three places

Before

Original draft: "Open the notification settings guide. First choose the workspace. Then select the notifications you want." The guide link points to /notifications on an invented help site.

After

Reviewed wording: "Follow the notification settings guide: choose the workspace, then select the notifications you want."

This is a fictional wording exercise, not a measured Vellix output. The intended destination remains /notifications. Accepting the sentence does not establish which address the final composer will contain.

Before

Intended result: the words "notification settings guide" link to /notifications.

After

Final composer in this fictional check: the same words link to /billing.

Stop and correct the destination. The visible words match, but the destination does not. If the words have no link, add the intended link manually. These invented paths are not instructions for a real help center.

Before

Intended layout: two separate steps, "1. Choose the workspace." and "2. Select the notifications you want."

After

Final composer in this fictional check: "1. Choose the workspace.2. Select the notifications you want."

Restore the separation if the reply relies on two steps. Check their order and wording after repairing the layout. This illustrates a manual review; it does not show an observed formatting failure or a preservation capability.

Check the destination after the wording

Once a rewrite reaches your Gorgias draft, check each help link in the final composer. Read the words, inspect the address and confirm that the destination answers the question. A clear label alone cannot establish that the link points to the right page.

Gorgias documents hyperlink and basic formatting controls in its reply editor. It also notes that the available toolbar options vary with the reply channel. Review the result in the channel you intend to use rather than assuming an email layout carries over to every channel.

Compare the destination with the approved address for this case. Open the help page separately and confirm that it contains the instructions you intend to share. If customer access is uncertain, check through your team’s approved process. Your signed-in access alone does not establish what the customer can open. Keep private ticket links and account tokens out of that check.

Make the link useful in its sentence

Tell the reader what the guide helps them do. W3C’s link-purpose guidance explains that the purpose should be understandable from the link text or its associated context. Use the relevant guide title or a short description of the task instead of an unexplained "click here."

Keep the description accurate. If the page only explains notification settings, do not describe it as a fix for every delivery problem. Read the destination before deciding what to promise in the surrounding sentence.

The worked comparison above separates three things: the original draft, the wording you approve and the result in the composer. Inspect the actual link in that last version. If the address or link is missing, use the available editor controls to restore it and check again.

Check the layout the customer will read

Read the final draft for lost paragraph breaks, joined steps and emphasis that no longer makes sense. If the customer needs to complete two actions in order, keep those actions separate and in the correct order.

Check links and layout again after a manual paste or repair. Also confirm any referenced attachment separately. This guide does not establish that a writing tool preserves hyperlinks, rich text, images or attachments.

If the complete replacement has not reached the intended composer, use the related draft-replacement guide first. If it has, finish this link and layout check before deciding to send.
